A call probably won't help you today

From what you have told us, this service is unlikely to be the right fit — and we would rather say so than take up your time. Nothing here stops you applying yourself, free of charge, directly with the Social Security Administration.

What happens when you call

  1. A few short questions about your condition, your work history and where you are in the process. Two or three minutes.
  2. They tell you whether a claim looks possible. If it doesn't, they will say so.
  3. If you want to go ahead, you sign an appointment of representative form (SSA-1696). Nothing is payable upfront — a representative is normally paid only if your claim is approved, out of back pay, at rates the SSA sets.

You can say no at any point, and you are never obliged to sign anything on the call.

You may have a claim if…

Most people who qualify meet all of the following. If that sounds like you, it is worth a call.

Already been denied? That is normal — most first applications are turned down. A denial does not end your claim, and appeals are often where cases are won. It is still worth calling.
